Hey Insiders, :)
Morbid question to open with: if the person who built your website vanished tomorrow — moved on, lost interest, got hit by a bus — could you still get to your own site?

For a lot of businesses the honest answer is no. The site's locked in a hosting account only the old developer had. Or buried in a database nobody can open. Or tangled up in a WordPress login that walked out the door with them. The work is still “yours” — you just can't reach it. That's not a website, that's a hostage situation.
So this week we're baking a death plan straight into SonaCMS. Three things make it work.
First, your whole site is plain files. SonaCMS runs with no database — every page, setting and image is an ordinary file. There's nothing trapped inside a system only a specialist can crack open.
Second, you'll be able to grab a full backup any time. That's the piece landing this week: one click in your admin panel and the whole site downloads to your machine — and a complete copy lands in your inbox automatically every month on top of that. A real copy, in your hands, not just sitting on our server.

Third, the engine is public on GitHub. The code that runs SonaCMS is out in the open and documented, so any developer on earth can pick up your site and keep it running. You're not dependent on one person — or one company — staying alive and answering the phone.
Here's the part I actually care about: this isn't us planning to disappear. It's the opposite. You should never be stuck with a supplier just because leaving is impossible. With this, if you ever want to walk, you take everything with you and any developer can catch it. That's how it should work — you stay because we're good, not because you're trapped.
As of this week it's baked into everything we build.
